Cory Booker brings Ford coffee during Kavanaugh hearing

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) provided Christine Blasey Ford with coffee after she expressed a need for a caffeine fix during her Senate testimony on Thursday.

Booker walked over to the witness table with a paper cup filled with coffee and handed it to Ford after she finished delivering her opening statement before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Ford, who was before the committee to testify about her allegation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in high school, had said before delivering her opening remarks that she may need some caffeine before proceeding.

“I think after reading my opening statement, I anticipate needing some caffeine if that is available,” Ford said.

Following her remarks, committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) asked if she wanted to take a break — before Booker swooped in with the caffeinated delivery.

"I'm OK, I got the coffee,” a smiling Ford replied.

"I think I can proceed and sip on the coffee," Ford said.
