Don't expect this hearing will change anything.

No matter how believable Dr. Ford has been, and she gets highest possible scores today, Republicans will steam full speed ahead.

Kavanaugh wont ever quit. Republicans will continue to be Republicans. This evening they will say they're voting for Kavanaugh. Nothing will change.

The vote will happen tomorrow.

This is merely Kabuki Theatre.

I think we may have Murkowski, but something tells me that Susan Collins made up her mind a long time ago and isn't going to change it no matter what.

We also have to factor in the very real possibility of Manchin voting with the Republicans like he always does.

as this thing unfolds. I notice people act as if there has not been huge twists and turns as well as a groundswell of absolute outrage nationwide. We have the GOP on the rope right now. You think otherwise. Hmmmm.

At this point Kavanaugh should be worried about keeping his current position.

...but this is going to spark a wave of support for Dr. Ford.

That's coming, right now, in the form of communications to legislator offices, from voters and donors, alike.

I'm thinking if it happens, though, that the term "Pyrrhic victory" will get a 21st century update. The Democrats have fought hard and clean against this nomination with everything they have. The base is energized, even low information voters are getting disgusted with Republican chicanery, and November could be an electoral blowout.

He's actually making a brazen bid for continued impunity for sex offenders like Kavanaugh. His ilks time is fast coming to an end.
