My sense from watching the comments here is that he's acting like an asshole who is in no way qualified for the job, also not saying anything that rebuts the Ford testimony about his obvious rapey-ness.
But do those of you watching think it's enough to keep the republican Senate from voting him in? Is there any way they can they vote him in and save face with their constituents? Because if they can, they will.

It's okay, little man. Daddy's going to make it all right, because you're a prince, and didn't mean to do that bad thing...
The "conservative" marks who support those greedy, lying a-holes eat that sort of shitty theatre up all the time. It's a GOP standard. Cry and deny when you get caught. If you're crying, you're really an okay guy who just made a mistake, if that bad thing you did was true.

(1,089 posts)who is in no way qualified for the job sitting in the WH right now, so yeah, I still think he'll be confirmed barring him pulling down his pants and pooping on the table in front of him before he's done, which could happen.

On the other hand, his performance is terrible across the board. He looked at Feinstein with contempt a moment ago.

(92,204 posts)sense is he will get confirmed regardless, though either way this will have major negative consequences for the republicans in the midterms no matter the outcome.

(16,954 posts)He is incoherent. He is a liability to them as you watch him now. Republicans need him to prop up Trump, but I would tend to think they might pass on him now.

His unhinged anger will play well with Trump. His barely veiled threats against democrats will play even better with the only audience that matters. And the R's in the senate will NOT stand against Trump.

(1,004 posts)But the STARK contrast between Ford and Kavanaugh cannot be downplayed or ignored.
If all it takes is two of Collins, Murkowski, and Flake, then I'd say no, he doesn't have the votes. Heck, that list might be expanding by the minute.
Honestly, what would be delicious is if Flake just ended it all tomorrow. Ram through a quick committee vote? OK, here's a no. That won't happen, but there is at least a non-zero percent chance of it.

(50,950 posts)fact that there seems to be some chance that he might not be confirmed. But I get from your comments that this likely has not changed anything.
Which is truly disgusting. But all we can do is persevere.

(23,418 posts)I could see his "temperament" becoming a concern for "sensible" Republicans, apart from any other misconduct allegations. I suppose this rides on Murkowski and Collins. I don't see Democrats pushing him over the line - I think it's up to those two Republicans. I have no idea.
