Kavanaugh Accuses Dems of 'Political Hit': It's 'Revenge on Behalf of the Clintons'

During a fiery opening statement, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh went after the Democrats and the media and called the entire two-week effort a “calculated and coordinated political hit” and “revenge on behalf of the Clintons.”
The Supreme Court nominee started off by talking about the “long series of false, last-minute smears designed to scare me and drive me out of the process before any hearing occurred. Crazy stuff. Gangs, illegitimate children, fights on boats in Rhode Island.”
Kavanaugh then pointed fingers at the media for spreading the nonsense “reported breathlessly and often uncritically.”
“This has destroyed my family and my good name, a good name built up through decades of very hard work and public service at the highest levels of the American government,” Kavanaugh said, noting with emotion the impact the accusation has had on his life.
He then said this, suggesting the real reason behind the accusation was anger over the 2016 election: “This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups. This is a circus.”
