Dr. Ford was incredible this morning, and Kavanaugh has behaved like a jerk but Lindsey Graham practically threatened Republicans who do not vote for confirmation. Republicans clearly went into this hearing with their minds made up. Unless Trump ditches him, which I think he will not, or unless Flake balks, it’s a done deal. I really hate to say that, but I think it’s reality.

He out and out threatened them. He also auditioned to replace Sessions as Att'y General.

Personally, I thought both Ford and Kavanaugh performed well in their opening remarks. Kavanaugh almost had me thinking he deserved to be confirmed -- even though I believe it will politicize SCOTUS' and possibly undermine Mueller's hard and successful work. But it looked like he was a genuinely decent guy who, for whatever reason, found himself trapped in a terrible situation. He even granted that Ms. Ford may have been sexually assaulted in her teen years, but not by him. And he cried -- some of it may have been acting, but some of it was real. I felt a little sorry for the mess he got caught in.

But then he started shouting and yelling and, well, being disrespectful of the Democrats on the committee, interrupting them, refusing to answer their questions and, yes, acting pretty much like a self-pitying jerk. Or a mean drunk.

He dodged simple yes-or-no questions ("Did you ever get so drunk you couldn't remember what happened the night before?" "Senator, I worked hard as a student, I was accepted to Yale on merit, to Yale Law School, studying every . . . " ME: answer the question for pete's sake!) and verbally assaulted everyone but Amy Klobuchar and Kamila Harris, who would have eaten his lunch, had he tried.

But I must sadly agree with you, Lonestarblue: he's getting confirmed. It was a done deal before the hearing. All we can do is hope the white women of America are watching and listening and that their votes will make the blue wave a goddam tsunami in November.

…Obama behaved as insanely as Trump did st his press conference yesterday?

These Republican old, rich, white men are toxic to our democracy. Power, money, and the status quo are their gods.

Was so condescending about the whole process. Oh wait.. I'm about to cry.... My daughter wanted to pray for "the woman" ..... "Do you like beer congressman??? Do you like beer??? I like beer. Do you like beer???" said the fucking drunk asshole. He's fucking lying. You can see it in the way his face turns scarlet when questioned about it. He can do yes or no questions softly pitched but when asked to describe something he turns red and goes off on a tangent. He's lying. Who wants a Supreme Court Justice that throws a tantrum every time someone questions their version of facts? He is a child in a man's body. He has gotten his way his whole white privileged life and he expects that everyone should recognize that. What a fucking tosser!

Will likely be shocked by this behavior. Not everyone is a political junkie. Hell, I know several people who didnt watch the hearings for one reason or another and are likely to get their daily dose of government talk from Good Morning America.
