Their "Hail Mary" maps people are thinking this:
Colorado has a LOT of Mormons.. so does Nevada
Wisconsin has a governor who fought off a recall & Ryan's homestate
Ohio's new voting rules and a rerun of 2004 irregularities might be enough
Michigan is one of Mitten's homestates & their governor has done a lot of "voting stuff" there too
Florida & PA can go to Obama if the racism & vindictiveness of the other states can be ginned up in time..
They can let the oldies fearing SS changes, vote for dems, and if they can fudge their way into getting what;s on the map..they "win"

(2,921 posts)They'll get their usual red state votes, but they won't get any further. All swing states are now in favor of Obama.

(12,461 posts)I suspect they have ways to keep ROMNEY TAX RETURNS on the front burner.

(26,219 posts)I still can't even imagine it being "close".
Maybe "home state" worked 20 years ago, but Mitt can't even keep his "home state" straight for the IRS, much less claim ties to one.

(26,501 posts)you think about it. Obama flips one of those close states you have in red. He would still win.

(1,125 posts)Over the past month Romney has been sliding in the polls. It was to the point where only a bold / high risk VP could save the campaign. Much like the Palin pick the last time around. It's a move of desperation.

(19,981 posts)Republicans won the "second most important political contest of the year" when the recall of Scott Walker failed. They also have Rinse Prepuce (sp?) of Wisconsin at the RNC. They apparently believe Wisconsin "knows the way forward." I suppose they'd like to follow the Wisconsin playbook all the way to the White House.

(29,149 posts)Aside from the outside chance at Wisconsin becoming a bit better, Ryan doesn't figure into those possibilities you mention. I think the odds of Romney winning Florida without Ryan are better than him winning both Wisconsin and Michigan with Ryan.
