Savage had a some very nasty and overt racist rants just recently. He is saying that Obama is turning the races against each other. That Obama is deliberately being divisive. There is just so much racial code out in the public forum. And it comes in many forms.
His diatribes as well as Limbaugh's set up an atmosphere that creates the kinds of tension that will eventually lead to action on someones part. This entire welfare meme implies the minorities are the ones who use welfare. The real truth is that white people are the largest recipients. When I worked with welfare programs those were the stats.
I am sadly around a lot of Republicans. I have known some of them for a long time. The racial hatred is just palpable with them. I one person I have known for a long time is more racist and bigoted than I knew.
You can incite hatred and even violence in so many indirect ways. And if you do it often enough in the right ways it does become a call to violence because it works at a more unconscious level. They are using some psychological techniques that I am familiar with.
I had a friend who went to a special kind of counseling for depression. I became familiar with it through him. You can program and reframe peoples' thinking in ways I never thought possible.
