Could Omaha cast the deciding presidential (electoral) vote?

WASHINGTON — Just imagine a presidential race down to the wire — and a close Omaha-area vote to determine who occupies the White House.

The harsh glare of the national spotlight. Armies of lawyers. Court challenges. Arguments about voter intent.

It is a possible — albeit unlikely — scenario because Nebraska splits three of its five electoral votes by congressional district, and the Omaha-based 2nd Congressional District could be in play.

After all, Barack Obama was able to win the district, or the “blue dot,” against Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in 2008.

if it's that close it would probably go republican. That would mean Obama lost states like Iowa and WI_DEM Aug 2012 #1

But I would never count on it. The difference was 3,300 in that district according to Wikipedia. Turn out would have to be as high as it was in 2008 there.
