I think the media are reluctant to "grant" credibility to a rising center of attention. His frequently correct predictions and obvious ego are causing a kind of cognitive dissonance. Not to mention there are plenty of egos standing about.

Should be given the benefit of a doubt. He adamantly defended her credibility. If he really is seeking higher office - he'd be a fool to hitch his wagon to a liar.

and more important story. Rachel did point out that the magnitude of this story blows everything else away for now.

and took three reporters and multiple assistants working full-time collecting and interpreting thousands of pages of financial documents. And Maggie Haberman had nothing to do with it. The NYT often does some very excellent reporting, notwithstanding Haberman, and this is one of their best.

The fact that Trump is a fraud is known, but the vast extent and the details of his and his whole family's fraud and criminality was not. This is a major story. And many of us are capable of following more than one news event at a time.

Maybe this is new. Things should be reassessed in that case.

And not Avenatti. His involvement gives the GOP all the ammo they need to dismiss her out of hand.

Other than saying that she recalls seeing Kavanaugh at these parties where terrible things happened, she couldn't say that she personally witnessed Kavanaugh doing anything bad himself. It was just weak.

This new affidavit is different because the witness is claiming she personally saw Kavanaugh spike punch.

If Avanetti only just became aware of this new witness, or this witness only now was willing to come forward, then he couldn't have released this until now and I hold him blameless.

But if he could have released this earlier, he made a big mistake in waiting!

named witnesses, but neither returned NBC's call. It's entirely possible this woman is one of them. It's also possible that Avenatti has been trying to convince this witness to go on the record for some number of days and she has just now done so.
