Columbia University is the size of a small city. Even if you were signed up for the same classes, you would not necessarily see someone you were not specifically looking for. If you were NOT signed up for the same classes, the chances of seeing someone YOU DID NOT EVEN KNOW....are about the same as running into your dead uncle in Times Square.

Also, Columbia is not a party school, it's a grind school. You know some of the people in your class, your year, and you don't look up until it's all over and someone on a podium is telling you to move your tassel.
