Update from the Campaign Trail

I knocked on doors for 6 hours yesterday; I'm starting to lose some weight! Still calling only on Dems, Greens, Independents, and NAV's, so I'm not facing any real hostility. However, my opponent is a long-time "nice guy" in this community (although his votes are consistently against working people), so I can't really hammer him very hard without creating a negative reputation. He's busy being the Republican leader of the House, so I'm still really not on his radar. My strategy is to build a $30,000 war chest by mid-September and do some media buys early.

The House Democrats are mostly watching and waiting, afraid to upset someone they may still have to work with next year by throwing support to me. So I'm walking in the heat, showing a viable race and working toward the tipping point where big support will come.

I know a State House race isn't as sexy as lots of other topics on DU, but it's the real thing. I hope you'll check out my web site http://www.rongreen.org and send some support my way.

Thanks!
