Felicia Sonmez‏@feliciasonmez

Ryan has not been thrown off track. At. All.

Reince Priebus is watching from next to stage. Branstad has one foot on stage

"Stop the war on the poor!" Man yells. Guy in front of him picks it up too. Ryan supporters hold up signs in front of them to block him

17m Felicia Sonmez‏@feliciasonmez

A few women tried to rush the stage at beginning of event; were taken away

18m Felicia Sonmez‏@feliciasonmez

People make a mistake believing that Iowa is hard core right wing because it's rural.

My family there is very Democratic, and I find it's because Iowa tends to be a NO BULLSHIT State. They see through shit very fast there.

I only wish my Grandma was alive when President Obama was elected.. omg she would have adored him! She loved being a "little old lady in Iowa" when the campaigns came through, because the republican's would see her and assume she was conservative, she LOVED telling them how wrong they were.

ETA, Ryan is not thrown off because he's a fucking automatron... he has no soul.

My grandpa was the Iron Workers BA in Cedar Rapids for many years and there is a great blue collar Democratic tradition there. Do NOT try to bullshit an Iowan.

So much awesome!

If he's going to stand up there and lie about how the only way to make things better is to cut taxes for the rich and cut benefits for the poor, he deserves to be reminded that some of us still live in the reality based community.

Of course not. What does he care what this poster or anyone else in the Iowa crowd has to say? He doesn't CARE about "you people".

I have discovered that the local "Town Hall"
meetings held by the rabid right wingers here will never answer a polite question from anyone who disagrees with them. My Congressman , oh lucky me, is Rep. Joe Wilson of "you lie" fame. Guess how far I get with any questions.

Good news to hear that some are getting the message. I bet those dumb asses that defend Ryan would crap their pants if he did away with a dollar in their Medicare funding.

I was at a meeting for senator Sheldon Whitehouse and some woman stood up and attacked him saying she wanted the government to have no part in her health insurance!!!! ( you can guess what happened next because it has happened so many times) He asked her what health plan she had and she said Medicare! She was stunned when he said that is a government program...she sat down but honest to god,. no more than five minutes later some old fart got up and made the same statement and he too was surprised to learn his heath plan government run!!

We may be welcoming to politicians, but don't screw around with us. We've listened to many, many politicians for years and years. We can spot a phony when they walk in the room, so save your breath if you're going to stand there and lie: banghead: .

Now, the Tea Party has problems I won't even get into...
