Stop trying to understand the Kavanaugh confirmation

Republicans coveted the Supreme Court for decades and nothing was going to stop their agenda, not even when their kind turned out to be a rapist. It's what they do.

This is why I knew from the time the controversy errupted that it wouldnt matter. The GOP was willing to take any kind of political hit they would take to capture the prize they've coveted for decades. It was fait accompli, people here just didnt want to accept it.

The ONLY thing they cared about was that the nominee was a Repuke too. They could not imagine any other standard to use to judge aye vs nay.
