Idea for a democratic slogan:

"Do you want your Republican Party back?

Do you want the Republican Party of Lincoln back?

Do you want the Republican Party of Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan back?

Then vote democratic."

I was also thinking of another possibility to counter the “angry mob” meme they’re starting to promote vs us — that the mob is foremost about protecting rights/safety of women, children, POC, environment etc... https://www.democraticunderground.com/100211252134

Whatever we use, we desperately need to get some tight, unified messaging quickly.

I can just picture the Deplorables scratching their heads and saying "huh"? to that.

I doubt too many of them even know what kind of presidents those three were. All they know is that Trump wants to put his boot on the necks of the same people they do.

That's the Republican Party that led directly to today's Republican Party. And that's the version of the party that convinced so many voters that they are being wronged by those awful women, minorities, immigrants, and welfare queens; that unions only take their money and never do anything good for them, that clean air and water regulations destroy jobs with no benefits, and so on. Reagan gave us Rehnquist, Scalia, and O'Connor, who paved the way for the right wing extremist judges who now dominate the court.

The truly sad thing is that most people don't know enough American History to understand what the Republican Party was like under Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Dwight Eisenhower.

In my opinion that's a terrible slogan and would turn off far more Republicans and Independents than it could possibly draw in. I could imagine an ad that would show the accomplishments of those first three and then show what modern day Republicans want to do that totally destroys their accomplishments. Show an actor dressed as Roosevelt, on horseback, looking over some grand national park. Then show what drilling and fracking does to that land. Show the construction of the interstate highway system, then show bridge collapses from neglect. And so on.
