I mean, this is serious stuff. When someone goes ahead and invents that time machine, we're going to have to be ready.

I removed Gustav Schäfer from history. The man was responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths in Europe.

When I got back, I learned of this Hitler guy .....

if you take out christopher columbus, the discovery of the americas doesn't happen (ever!), there is no european mercantile era underwritten by the plunder of the americas and slavery, no colonization of asia and africa, no world war 1 over who's going to get what colonies, and no world war 2 over who's going to replace the british empire as top dog. how do you like that? i practically killed adam and eve.

Reagan, after all, deemed ketchup a vegetable, and did, after all, bring us Reaganomics, which we're still fighting ... but hey, what's 60 million people and a total realignment of the world compared to some bad tax and regulation laws?

I mean otherwise it's kind of like posting a thread asking "What color do you think the sky is on a clear day?" and expecting to get a lively discussion.

Of course you're going to pick Hitler. Take Hitler out of the discussion, move on and discuss something interesting.

outcome of the election. There seems to be little sign that his influence is waning.

My vote is probably for Alexander Hamilton, though. It will be hundreds of years getting away from his worldview and machinations.

Mostly that the social and economic motivations for the rise of the Nazis would continue to exist even if Hitler was not their leader.

Also, arguably, Hitler screwed up and should have invaded Great Britain. It has been said that he was afraid of water and that his fear somehow made him to cautious. If you remove Hitler and have someone more capable rise to power things could be much worse. WWII was terrible but we did end up on the winning side. Are you sure you want to mess with that outcome?

Reagan is less risky. Also, we ended up on the wrong side of that fight.

P.S. I picked Abraham.
