The cautionary tale...the Dems were ahead but they're losing their edge, they're not doing a good enough job. Jacob Soboroff has done another of his vids, interviewing young people showing how they won't vote. Bad for Dems. Best week Comrade Trump has had in a year. Sam Stein really has a feeling Dems won't do well. Morning Joe was a big scold for the DEms. And on and on their attempt at a self-fulfilling prophecy goes.
There is a cautionary tale in this...don't listen to them.

(4,268 posts)I don't listen to all the whiners on here with their "the sky is falling" or "I can't live in this country anymore" boo hoo threads.
Man or woman up. Less than 30 days to fight. Volunteer, knock on doors, write post cards, make calls.
There is an older white gentleman (79 years old) on Twitter who walks every day for Dreamers and immigrants holding his sign. Rain or shine.
There is an older lady who has cancer, still works and goes knocking on doors at LUNCH TIME.
If they can, and do.....WTF is YOUR excuse? Stop whining and get to work.

(35,454 posts)I think we, in the next 28 days, should keep posting all these 'cautionary tales' as one downer called them. I don't know why the media, in particular, does this. Sits their rubbing their chins and telling how the "Dems" don't know how to win or take advantage of anything.

(6,535 posts)The media always seem to want a horserace; it's better for ratings.
I like to remember that the term "progressive" with respect to political trends implies an inevitable course of greater equality and freedom as time passes. The reactionary and authoritarian forces in the world may seem to be surging recently, but I think that's largely out of desperation--the fascists won't be able to stem the tide of progress; eventually, we will win. It's implied by the very terms we use to describe our politics.
