Evil People
Uh, Republicans?
Your “pResident” has now labelled Democrats as “evil people” – and you, of course, are going along with the whole idea.
When it comes to who is truly evil, you seem to be a bit shaky on the concept, so allow me to explain who “evil people” are.
They are:
People who take children away from their parents, then lock them in cages – or simply lose them.
People who take away people’s healthcare, instead of making it more affordable for all.
People who suppress civil rights, reproductive rights, and voting rights.
People who put the country in debt in order to fund tax-cuts for the already wealthy.
People who put perjurers and sexual predators on the highest court in the land.
People who keep deadly weapons on the street because the people who manufacture and sell those weapons donate to their campaigns.
People who call white supremacists “very fine people”, and call peaceful protestors an “angry mob”.
People who overturn laws that protect the environment, and keep our air breathable and our water potable.
People who lie, cheat and steal in order to win elections.
People who, once elected, do everything that benefits them and nothing that benefits those who elected them.
People who don’t hesitate to put totally unfit people into positions of power, and then enable them to do damage to the nation and its populace.
People who undermine the very foundations of our democracy – like our intelligence community, our judicial system, and a free press.
People who know that an adversarial foreign power interfered with our election process – and choose to do nothing about it.
People who know that climate change is a threat to the planet – and choose to dismiss it as a “hoax”.
People who gut funding for programs that feed the hungry, house the homeless, and care for the disabled and mentally ill.
People who send our soldiers into harm’s way, and then ignore their needs when they come home injured, maimed, and emotionally broken.
People who dismiss facts as lies, and promote lies as fact.
People who do what is politically expedient rather than what is morally right.
People who collude with our nation’s enemies in exchange for money, and the political power that money can buy.
And then there are the most evil people among us: the hypocrites. They are the people who pretend to be patriots while dismantling our democracy, who pretend to be truth-tellers while they deceive their fellow citizens, who pretend to be selfless servants of the people while selfishly lining their own pockets, and who pretend to be God-fearing Christians while doing the reprehensible.
I just wanted to set you straight on this whole “evil people” thing, because you seem to be totally unaware that the “evil people” are you.
