Lis Smith: "Winning elections is about more than just talking tough on twitter and tv."

Lis Smith (long time Democratic Party activist) responding to Michael Avenatti.

"I’m not working for anyone. I’ve spent 15 years in the trenches knife fighting, and gosh it’s funny, I just don’t remember seeing you there.

Winning elections is about more than just talking tough on twitter and tv."

Here's Avenatti's response to this Democratic Party activist:

"I’ve been travelling the country for months raising money for Democrats across the country. I’ve also been doing legal work for my clients. Where have you been? Inside the beltway eating cucumber sandwiches and pontificating? You don’t know what you are talking about, yet again."

Here's some info about Lis Smith:

Lis Smith is a Democratic campaign communications specialist and co-founder of 50 State Communications in New York. She was the deputy campaign director for Martin O'Malley's 2016 presidential campaign. Smith previously worked on campaigns for former Sen. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), President Barack Obama (D) and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D).

She cites the obvious. Thank you. Trust Buster Oct 2018 #1
Be careful. Avenatti is the second coming to plenty up here Roland99 Oct 2018 #2
He can be both. A tough fighter for us and a carnival barker. We need all kinds right now. Funtatlaguy Oct 2018 #3
Sure. But the adulation he receives is ridiculous. Roland99 Oct 2018 #4
That's pretty much my take on him as well oberliner Oct 2018 #5

He can do no wrong and he can continue to bash Democratic leadership and still be hailed a hero up here.

Unreal.

He’s an attention-seeking grifter who just happens to say things people are desperate to hear

Bashing, exactly. I'm sick of him already. The bashing, denigrating serves no good purpose. It's not going to change anything that he wants to change. It's only going to tarnish the party's brand, diminish whatever support we're hoping to get from new voters, and create distrust and division within the party itself. And as we so clearly have been shown: a divided party is a weaker party. Why would anyone do anything that weakens the party?
