Why the polls will tilt towards the Democrats nearer election day?

Because of three groups of voters, in my opinion.

The first group of voters were the people that voted against Hillary Clinton, including some Obama supporters, and had decided to take a chance with Trump. Hillary is no longer on the ticket and Independents are leaning heavily towards the Democrats for these mid-terms.

The second group of voters are the older Republicans. I cannot believe that they will vote for Trump in the same numbers, because many understand that a vote for their Republican Congressman or Senator is a vote in support of Donald Trump. They understand the history of despots and tyrants. Republicans will lose some support with this group, in my opinion.

Thirdly, I think women are going to be a huge factor in the mid-term elections. Trump has lost a lot of support from Republican women and it would lead us to believe that they would vote overwhelmingly for the Democrats in the upcoming election.

Trump has assured all of them that he is on the ballot. That may have been a big mistake on his part?

Granted, I live in bright red to the core Oklahoma, but when I hit a house that shows they are registered Democrats I am finding that since Kavanaugh, some people are buying that he was treated poorly and that what you do in High School should not count as an adult. Yes, I know that is wacko, but that is what I have been hearing.

I had a conversation with an older woman the other day who brought this up. I reminded her that if you commit a felony in high school and are tried as an adult it is going to stick with you. She said she agreed with that, but she doesn't think he did anything her own sons didn't try in high school. I had no answer for that. I see what he did as attempted sexual assault, if he had been sober, he may have been successful in his attempt.

I am only pointing out that it is NOT just republicans who are drinking that koolaid. They have total control of the news cycle 24/7 because someone's hair is always on fire. It is like the Wizard of Oz, don't look behind the curtain.

... I wonder if would make any difference if hundreds of members of the ABA would not recommend him? I think he had more problems than "just" sexual assault? His suspected gambling problem was never investigated.
