Even if Mitt Romney wins, he's still in trouble and here's why:

1. Even though he has name recognition, he cannot get over 25%
2. Rick Santorum, who doesn't have name recognition, money or ground game, is giving Romney a fight
3. 41% of Iowa caucus goers were Undecided and that cannot be good news for him
4. Low voter turnout and lack of enthusiasm
5. Even with the $15 million or so spent on negative campaign ads, he's still running too closely to Santorum
6. The Democrats will have a great deal of material in which to use against Mittens should he become the nominee
7. The longer we wait on these close contests, the more trouble Mittens is in

I just think that it's going to be more difficult for the reasons that I stated.

Undoubtedly, Mitt Romney WILL be the Republican nominee for president. I just want it to play out for as long as possible. And well...because I hate this guy with a passion!

That's why Obama won: The bigots stayed home, rather than risk voting for the loser white veteran old guy.

The bigots are staying home.

Obama's in, but I hope he gets enough of the senate to re-grow a pair.

If he wins IA and NH, then follows up with a close 2nd in SC and a win in FL, then it's over! He has enough money, the Corporate Media behind him, and the big wigs in the establishment who want him.

Even if he loses tonight, he has the money to keep going. The others do not.

In Politics, as in racing, there is no substitute for cubic money.

I just hope that all the anti-Romney sentiment can coalesce behind one other candidate, and keep Romney running as hard as he can, beating him up every inch of the way.

I hope the nutcase South Carolinians put him third.

I'd love to see this go to their convention.

If the Tea Party gets united behind a single candidate then Romney is done, the only reason he has a chance is the far right is splitting their votes. If Bachmann and Perry drop out tomorrow then Romney is in big trouble.

for him even if he does win tonight.

Now, Debbie Wasserman Schultz made an excellent point: The Republicans keep telling us that this is THEIR year. They keep telling us that they should win this election and dominate the elections this year. The problem is that they are having trouble rallying around their chosen leader: Mitt Romney.

Again, my theory stands. If Romney is having trouble in Iowa; if he cannot even get past the 25% that he hasn't been able to surpass at all, then he's in trouble. Not saying that we won't win in the end, but that he'll be forced to spend more money, more time, fighting in the primaries than he should fighting Obama.

And for me, that's great news. I hate Romney with a passion!

up this state and win it outright without fighting against a no-name candidate in Rick Santorum or a nutbag like Ron Paul?

Something is wrong with that.

...won't nominate him. That's incorrect.

They will nominate him because 1) nearly all
Republicans *CAN* vote for him and 2) Romney
will draw more independents than any of the other
clowns, allowing him to quite-possibly win the
General Election.

he probably will, but with his credentials he should be a shoo in and he has to campaign and at the same time keep a low profile. He has to wait til all the other candidates self-combust and be the last one standing to have a real chance at the nomination.
