67 years ago today, a spontaneous kiss became a cultural icon
The famous photo of the sailor kissing the nurse known as "V-J Day in Times Square" was taken on August 14, 1945. The photos is one of my favorite candid moments ever captured, and has appealed in everything from The Simpsons to the Watchmen (as well as Night at the Museum, but I didn't like that one).
