On the social spending, Obama has been very much the steady hand on the tiller, focusing on efficient management and good-government policies.

In contrast, the republicans in this election, both Romney and Ryan, are much more radical social engineers than the GOP has ever run before. It still eludes me how in the world they expect to sell such extreme measures to "conservatives", unless US conservatives are just fundamentally nuts anyway...

very beginning. My Rethug Congressman has been pushing that lie nearly every week on telephone conference calls for almost two years. It was the lie about Medicare cuts, Obamacare and death panels that won the 2010 Teabagger landslide.
There are many people that believe it.

one can be denied insurance because of preexisting conditions, and then change it to Vouchercare it won't matter how much that voucher amounts to they will be denied insurance because most people up in age have a preexisting condition. The Republican dream is that old people will have to use their life savings to pay for their medical expenses and then there goes their children's inheritance. This will affect young and old so people better THINK before they vote, and vote like their life depends on it because it does. And we know they want to turn soc sec over to Wall St and we know what will happen then - "oops, we lost it".
