Trying to reason with a Trumpster is sorta like trying to push a string: however much

time you spend in the attempt is time wasted. Most thinking people understand the difference between facts and opinions and their conscience---their sense of shame, if you will---prevents them from even trying to use them interchangeably. The Trump disciples, however, believe that facts are created when Trump speaks, no matter what ridiculous nonsense he spews.

IMHO, the most appropriate response when confronted with Trumpian "facts" is a simple "Bullshit", stated calmly and confidently and, if possible, with a patient smile. And, whatever impassioned word salad is tossed (see what I did there?) at you as their answer to your disdain, smile very indulgently and simply repeat: "TOTAL Bullshit" and then walk away or if that's not possible, ignore them.

We join their game when we pretend to "discuss" their obvious lies.

I refuse to debate(?) dt fans even a little. it's a lost cause.
See the Jim Acosta "apology" from the two dt fans. Note the look on the wifes face and the ending w waving the women for tr sign. She seems rather strange. I think they enjoy looking like and behaving like, lunatics to make people wonder.
You want crazy? Wait til another election is thrown...it's on like donkey kong then.

Their belief is, no matter how heinous has behavior, they are CONVINCED we are misunderstanding his 'method' and everything will work out, in the end.

They are stupid.

Just "Bullshit". I will not get into a debate. I might add "that's totally made up." But not every time.

It's more akin to being a fan of a particular sports team. It is an outlet for tribalism and connection, based not on location or attendance as in sports, but upon race privilege and fear.

Reason and logic has no bearing on their love of a would-be fascist.
