4. I just don't turn it on anymore.

I do turn on the cable news channels if there is something breaking (my definition not theirs).

I refuse to listen to the babble of the TV "personalities." They take forever to get to the point (valid or not) if they have one.

I read news articles and editorials on-line. I can go back and re-read a sentence to be sure I understood correctly, pause and research something if I want, and go at my own speed. Doing it this way has helped me stay more level headed.

I get on Twitter, not to see who got one upped or what the latest memes are, but to be alerted to news stories. We also have some local activists who tweet notes on every government meeting in the area. This information is very important and not available on the other media.

I would encourage others to try it my way. I understand people absorb information in different ways so I don't think my way is the only way.

8. I usually go to Democracy Now first and then I head over to

Talking Points Memo, The Guardian, National Memo, Raw Story, Share Blue, Crooks and Liars, Media Matters , once in a while to The Hill, or Politco, not my fan favorites especially the The Hill.....................and then I see if the talking heads take from one news source.......................this morning they took from the fox news source and the right wing talking heads and the BS playbook................
