Russian Lawmakers Head to U.S. to Monitor Midterm Elections

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-01/russian-lawmakers-head-to-u-s-to-monitor-midterm-elections

Two Russian lawmakers are taking part in an international monitoring mission to the U.S. midterm elections, amid controversy in Washington about alleged Kremlin meddling in the campaign.

Artem Turov From the ruling United Russia party and Alexei Kornienko from the Communist party are part of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s observer mission to the U.S. from Nov. 2 to Nov. 8, Turov said Friday in an interview.

“It’s a regular monitoring mission,” said Turov, who said he’s making his first trip to the U.S. and worked previously as an election monitor in Turkey and Georgia. The lawmakers don’t plan meetings or activities beyond the OSCE mission, he said.

U.S. officials have accused Russia of meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign to try to help Donald Trump to win, and of interfering in the midterm contests taking place on Nov. 6. Russia denies any interference in the elections. The U.S. refused to allow Russian diplomats and observers to take part in monitoring missions during the presidential elections, Kommersant reported in 2016.

....."In 2012, she met with accused spy master Alexander Torshin when he visited Williamson County — her home county — as an election observer, squired by her former campaign president, attorney, and friend G. Kline Preston IV. Blackburn's actions speak much louder than her words," said Democratic Party spokesman Mark Brown.

Everybody in Russia knows that there is "carousel-voting" in Russia, where paid voters are bused from poll to poll. Hell, in 2016 (IIRC) a poll found that 30% of Russians would be willing to sell their vote for money.

"Regular" monitoring mission by FSB (KGB) standards, not FEC standards.

Check out the software he has on him, and what he acquires while here. My brother, who does high tech stuff for DARPA told me, "give me a cell phone and a laptop, and I'll make any electronic voting machine give you any result you want." That was SIXTEEN years ago, and the software for those machines has hardly (if at all) been updated since then.

This guy needs 24/7 monitoring for all transmissions going and coming from his person, transportation and lodging. He is not here to make American safe for democracy.
