Walter Mondale (D-MN) was VP under President Jimmy Carter.
Before that, he was a US Senator.
Before that, he was MN Attorney General.
During Mondale's endorsement, he talked with Keith Ellison (D) about how Ellison won't fire people based on their political party. Doug Wardlow (R) said he'll fire Democrats and replace them with Republicans as soon as he becomes MN AG.

Walter Mondale was MN AG from 19601964.
Keith Ellison will hopefully be MN AG from 2019-2023. I early-voted today for Keith Ellison.

(35,619 posts)It's important that he's re-affirming his endorsement.
Ex-girlfriend Karen Monahan announced in August 2018 that Keith Ellison had tried to pull her out of bed to get her to move out in August 2016. That announcement resulted in a lot of negative headlines, some with the phrase "Domestic Violence," which I consider an unfair way to describe the accusation.
Monahan has contradicted herself about what happened. Sometimes she says he pulled her off a bed, sometimes that he tried to but she stayed in bed.
Ellison says that he left that morning while she was sleeping without interacting with her.
I early-voted today for Keith Ellison (D) for the environment, gay rights, abortion rights, and worker rights.

(35,619 posts)The MN Attorney General race is Keith Ellison (D) vs Doug Wardlow (R).
Minnesotans need an attorney general who stands firmly on his values, and with our values. While Wardlow has publicly claimed to support criminal background checks on all gun sales, he has privately told supporters just the opposite. And when he insists publicly that he would not use the office to engage in federal politics, he turns around and tells his far-right base that he will use the office to support and defend President Donald Trumps agenda in the courts.
Keith Ellison has always told Minnesotans exactly where he stands, and has acted on his word. He has been a strong advocate for equal opportunity and justice for all in Congress. He has the legal experience necessary to lead this public interest law firm. Over a 16-year career of civil rights and defense law, Ellison headed the states premier nonprofit public defense organization, the Legal Rights Center, for five years. He has real experience trying dozens of cases before the court and juries, experience that Mr. Wardlow lacks. Keith Ellison has the right priorities for the office, pledging to protect consumers and workers, and to enforce Minnesotas strong civil rights laws to protect the rights of all.
