She can count. “Never bring a bill to the floor unless you have the votes.” She must know that we have the votes. F it if she is isn’t too chicken to say so.

of the confidence of her colleagues. I've read she's admired for her ability to count, which apparently requires more than a calculator to keep tabs. And for a lot more. If Nancy and the rest of our team think they need to start pushing this idea, they do.

I'm a big fan of hers, but hearing her say that on Colbert was strange. Cobert was even taken aback. It was weird, and yes, I had flashbacks to Hillary.

Pelosi maybe right in that we have the votes, but she can't be blind to voting "shenanigans" can she?

If she's wrong, she's not going to be the minority leader would be my guess.

She takes a positive approach while people like Michael Moore spin doom and gloom to motivate. Two sides of the same coin, though one approach is less annoying.

It wouldn't. So you certainly don't need to worry about that. It could be a launching pad for accusations of election theft.

But I imagine she has other, better reasons at the moment. Positivity and hope are inspiring. Plus, remember, people love winners. Some are even encouraged to go vote for winners because they believe they're winners. (Yes, an "oh, my people" reality they're all too aware of.) Hardly least, even that I can think of, the media are impressionable also, and they can't quote statements that aren't made.

Congratulations, btw, on just being "puzzled," slapping down that inner Dunning-Kruger we all have a bit of before it took over. After all, profound ignorance of all that top professionals know, including as insiders in the moment, is one of our most defining characteristics.

Just that we have had one experience of the polls saying one thing and the votes saying another.

Possibly it is just putting out a positive message, as well as a launching pad for accusations of election theft. That makes sense, I don't think Pelosi makes mistakes or says much by accident.

She gets things done and doesn’t brag about it. But it’s no secret that strong, smart women who can beat the Big Men opposed to her in their own world are despised. Their anger is a testament to her strength.

Or from the anti-Pelosi Repubs who want nothing more than to push the message that she 'Must be replaced', ..
"premature victory lap."
"premature victory lap."
"premature victory lap."
"premature victory lap."

Messaging twist from the desperate RW brain:
"PELOSI must not be allowed to give hope to her voting base! SHE MUST BE STOPPED"

"Everyone hear that? Say it with us slowly & loudly & often because if the Dems get the House WE REPUBS ARE FK'D, CUZ PELOSI KNOWS HOW CORRUPT WE ALL ARE, JUST LIKE HILLARY DID AND SHE WILL SEE THAT OUR FASCIST PLAN IS STOPPED DEAD IN ITS TRACKS"!!

"MUST.STOP.PELOSI
MUST CONVINCE PEOPLE THAT SHE IS OLD & IN THE WAAAAY!!!! MUST GO NEGATIVE WITH MESSAGING"!!
STOP HER!"

--------

SEE HOW THAT NEGATIVE RW SPIN WORKS?

Speaker Pelosi is qite correct in stating the most positive motivating fact about getting people to vote.

Btw, her positive hopeful & encouraging words were hardly a "premature victory lap."

That sounds very RW talking points-ish

This bs is coming from a place where division & negative messaging is the usual m.o.
Divide the population by negative messaging against the strongest opponant, the most effective ones who hold the power.

Weaken the strongest links in the chain & it will fall apart.
That is their goal.

"premature victory lap." is NOT what Pelosi's words were. That is the Spin of the RW.
She offered a positive & encouraging message to her voters.

And she was right to do so.

SEE?

She’s telling them to get on the bandwagon cuz we’re going to win. This is how she whipped votes in Congress. This is how she is whipping votes for us.

She and Obama wiped out preexisting conditions for every American who had health insurance and added millions to the insurance rosters. She can speak her mind any damn time she wants to.

GO OUTSIDE and take a few deep breaths. Hit the old gym. A hot shower or a nice bath. Get yourself something to eat. Rake the lawn. Mow the grass. Tend to your signs if you have them, and have faith. Scaring yourself sick until Tuesday does'nt seem to be a good plan. America is a good and decent country. We always say when theres big voter turn out we win. There's big voter turn out by all reports. Some agita is understandable, but, hanging around here and fretting isn't going to do anyone any good. We are splitting hairs so thin it's ridiculous. Check in, but, check out(side) too. Tuesdays our day. Thats 72 hours away. It's Saturday, trums stolen almost 2 years of our life...don't hand over anymore of it by making yourself sick. Keep your chin up. The gop is going to stir the pot like theres no tomorrow, and the news is going to turn the screws and push buttons bc they want you to buy whatever pill they're pushing today. Do your best, but, focus on being happy. At the end of the day, that's what we require from our representatives, but, charity begins at home. It's going to be ok.
Live life, and be hopeful.
