(16,384 posts)He supported Nader in 2000 which brought us W. He was very lukewarm on Kerry and Obama. In 2016 he talked a lot about holding his nose to vote for Hillary after spending the primary season bashing her. The fact is, Trump is good for Moore Inc. What he's been saying is actually not meant to motivate, it's WISHFUL THINKING.

(14,093 posts)In 2004, Moore was sold as the voice of the leftwing and youth. Dems catered to him and invited him to sit with Carter at the convention.
He really thought of himself as a kingmaker.
Then, along came Obama, who won the nomination without needing to kiss Moore's ring and became a hero to younger voters and Moore lost the spotlight.
That's driven him crazy.

(7,447 posts)pretty basic logical fallacy.
So because of those two things, what exactly? How do either of those relate to the fact that he's missed two of the last three presidential elections, and only ever predicts doom and gloom?
He's predicted the Dems to lose every election. If you do that, you are going to pretty much get some of them right because we don't win every single election.
So getting two of the last three wrong is neither in your words "prescient" or "getting it right more than wrong."
It's literally the opposite of both those things.

(14,093 posts)And repeated the canard and insinuation that the nomination was "stolen" from Sanders by superdelegates at the convention, despite Clinton getting more delegates and millions more votes.
And all his bashing of Clinton and Obama for not being progressive enough was countered with his loving embrace of Richard Ojeda here in West Virginia, an anti-choice, rightwing conservacrat who endorsed Trump, repeated GOP smears, bashed immigrants and scapegoating refugees.
Moore clearly wants a Democratic loss, because then he gets two more years of media booking to lecture us on why Dems can't win. And he gets to pretend he has some kind of insight, despite predicting President Romney and President McCain.

(25,518 posts)the DNC rigged an election. This has convinced people not to vote for Democrats, that both sides, the whole system, is corrupt. And still claiming that Trump voters are poor downtrodden people just wanting to blow up the unfair system when in reality the median annual income of the Trump supporter is $72,000. Those people want the system right where it is, just want a tax break and nationalism.
