They're sick; their feet are bleeding. The children need nutrition, clean water and a day's peace. The adults are sick and exhausted from a long, desperate journey to save their family's lives.

Yet despite the New Colussus lighting their welcome at the Statue of Liberty, they will be met by a government declaring we don't abide by our own laws, that's deployed the military for symbolic bullying power to back up the border agents, and now there are wacky militia groups running in to be heroes.

(And I'm sure they're all real good "Christians," bless their hearts.)
