Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe Mueller investigation is a conspiracy investigation, which means:
Mueller is investigating whether or not Trump and his people are traitors. Mueller has already proven Russia attacked us. Any American who went along with that attack, or knew about and did not report it, covered it up, is a traitor.
How can you not impeach? Not doing so would be saying it's OK to be a traitor. This investigation is much worse than Watergate.

(51,006 posts)let a Democratic House impeachment die on the vine regardless of what Mueller comes up with.
In which case, I say indict rather than impeach.

(15,751 posts)My sense of talking not very political voters; is that conspiracy information like Russia/Deutsch Bank 'loans' and their implications - is beyond the radar of many, many voters. Most voters still realize Russia is an enemy. That could change things. That, and 'con realization that voters are getting better informed . . .

(51,006 posts)We should, just because we should. But I do not expect that the Senate will follow up. However, as you say, the information aspect of it is key.
But in ADDITION, I say we should arrest all their asses.

(52,317 posts)It would force republican senators to go on record voting to support Donnie remaining president despite the accusations and evidence.
The same party, and some of the same people, who insisted Clinton needed to be removed for being deceptive in a minor civil case.
I don't know if this would damage them any more than they're already damaged, but we have to consider the political pros and cons of going through the impeachment process even knowing it won't result in removal.

(4,555 posts)I'd rather see dems try and fail than to not even bother trying. We're entitled to that much seeing as how republicans persist with "but her emails"

The RW machine has tried to wear down our opposition hoping that we'd just go home without even trying. Let's keep on trying and eventually convict them!

(2,406 posts)... considering its makeup, but the House has a clear duty. Their job is to examine the situation, hold hearings, make recommendations, and if it's warranted, vote out bills of impeachment.
Anything else is dereliction of their duty.
All of the shit HAS to come out... and let the chips fall where they may. The American people need to know what trump has done. The Repubs may still back him, but that's not Congress' problem.

Therefore, in addition to impeachment, all parties should be indicted and arrested in ever narrowing circles around trump until he is the last one standing and is forced to use the ridiculous "you can't indict a sitting president" shtick. If he loses that, he's indicted. If he wins it, he is an outed crook spitting in the wind.

(1,406 posts)Replace them all come January so Mueller's indictments on all of them can be successful.
SC may be a problem, (which was the reason for Gorsuch & Kavanaugh being seated) because you know they'll take anything Federal to the SC, but much is being sent thru the States which Trump can't touch.
I would think that Trump has to be severly damaged first, then the proof of conspiracy/espionage will follow easily with the rest of the traitors.
My theory only, and I'm just offering a guess here.
I still hold out trust that Mueller & our foreign allies have readied a masterful case that will never stand up to a challenge.

(9,777 posts)The laws we have to punish treasonous individuals are really kinda weak. 10,000 fine, 5 years prison time, cant hold office for US government.
What about the firing squad, hanging, lifetime imprisonment, loss of all material ownership?
At very least exile.
Now Im not saying anyone is a traitor or whom they may be or condoning any of the actions I mentioned, just wanted to know.

(13,903 posts)until Trump's actions have seriously endangered their congressional/senate seats. The Blue Wave might be the start to that, but I doubt it. IMHO Trump will have to do something that the GOP can't come back from and by that time it will be too late.
