Question re Trump's Presidential Salary

I am sure everyone remembers his pledge to donate or give his salary back to the government because he was so rich he didn't need it. He was on TV donating his first month's check to (I think) the National Park Service.

Since that time nothing more has been said about donating his checks. So I am wondering did he break that promise? Is he keeping the money from his salary and how can this be checked out?

He can't donate directly, but he does pocket the salary and then donate an equal amount each quarter to a government agency.

Never thought of checking Snopes for this. Frankly, I am surprised he is actually donating the salary as promised.

the money was going.

I thought the initial pattern was an announcement once per quarter, and the money usually going in a direction which highlights some part of his political agenda, with the media passing over it pretty quickly or ignoring it entirely because of all the other horror show stuff going on in his administration.

But I don't expect any receipts will be produced to prove where the money goes.

the same as when Mitt Romney put out he would not take his salary if he got it..too rich, don't need it. The dodge is that you receive the salary to do the job. I've had experience with a few who have pulled this con, and it just means to them, I didn't take any money so I can do what I want tho do...my belief is that they have to take the coin and are responsible to do the job.
