Comfort foods - must have comfort foods. Tonight's totally seasonally inappropriate craving/creation is a cold tuna/pasta/dill salad.
Tomorrow will be what ever I think I can swallow while enduring stress triggered esophageal spasms. Maybe I'll just stick to wine. AFTER I vote, of course.
So, if anything I post, tomorrow night, sounds weird and disjointed, feel free to call me out!

(3,344 posts)Please try to take it easy.
Once the polls close, all you can do is watch and wait.
I won't be watching TV because I don't like that minute-by-minute rollercoaster. I'm going to wait as long into the night as I can before checking on results. I may wait until Wednesday morning.

(26,260 posts)Hopefully Turner Classic Movies will have something good to offer.
I'm going to give my bed sheets a 'liberal' spraying with lavender water, tomorrow, in case I end up spending Wednesday sobbing in a fetal position. Hopefully I'll be up, singing and dancing and making a pitcher of Mimosas.

(22,239 posts)...I was so despondent I was barely able to function. I couldn't even cook the day after the election.

(15,536 posts)I've already started stress eating. I've opened the refrigerator ten times but the selection hasn't changed.
I love tuna/pasta/dill salad.

(63,845 posts)some DU'ers are tuning late or waiting the next day to get the results a lot better for your mental health, but then some us will watch from start to finish.

(26,260 posts)Polls in Michigan close at 8PM so I doubt we will have anything reportable until around 10.
I'm trying to tell myself that I'm not worried about my state but I'd rather be slightly pessimistic and be delighted with the results than to be overly optimistic, and end up disappointed.
on DU is the best place to be of course.

(46,166 posts)I made two large cans of it today to have in the fridge for a couple of days. A friend in Illinois made it today, too, for her family. It's definitely a thing.

(86,579 posts)turned to crap. I normally eat a very healthy diet but I can't seem to get it together enough to make a meal more than once or twice a week right now the rest of the time I make a juice - I can suck down fluid when I can't take solid food which is often - but the rest is potato chips w/sour cream for dip or crackers and humus, that sort of thing. If I had anyone depending on me for food they's have starved by now.

(21,784 posts)I'll be working as an election inspector (the folks at the other side of the table who have you sign your name and give you your ballot to fill out, among other things)
I'll be there from 5:30 am until around 9:30 pm (with 1-2 meal breaks)
Long, long day for me tomorrow. I'm off to bed in another hour as I want to be up about 4:30 am.

(9,199 posts)She has taken to her bed with stomach issues, and canceled our dinner together tonight.
Me? I'll take a single Xanax if I start with the fast heartbeat and respiration and cold hands tomorrow night.
For now, I'm sending out our final GOTV text from Travis County Democrats and I'm doing it from my breakfast table.

(6,113 posts)OWASA, the water system here in Chapel Hill, today had a break in the main pipe from the water treatment plant. It took them from 6:30 am until 3:00 pm to get it patched. Will be late tomorrow before we get off use restrictions and boil water requirements.
Most restaurants are closed. Went to the grocery store with limited success. Had been out of town a couple of weeks so a mostly empty fridge. Things like meats, seafood, deli, etc. were all closed. Can at least make a banana sandwich and have plenty of wine. Might still have a slice or two of leftover pizza in the freezer.
Overall, a minor inconvenience.
