Definitely read the first half of the post. I have found this to be the easiest and most reliable way to figure out the judges.
The last half of the post is for Arizonans. What state are you in? I might be able to help you.

(31,261 posts)If you can get a Democratic Party recommendation list, follow that. Most likely such a list is not available, but you maybe able to find a rightwing one, vote the opposite of what they recommend.
You can study each Judge online, see who appointed him or her and try to find out something on their judicial philosophy. I used this in my local Judge races, unfortunately in my red county, I lost all of them. Who appointed them or their philosophy is key, an overly religious bent it pro gun or appointed by a republican is a red flag.
If you live in Florida, vote No on both the Supreme Court retention and the Fifth Circuit retention, both are Scott appointees and have a rightwing philosophy. You may lose along with me, but at least you would have tried.
Most people get surprised by the judicial retention choices, they are the stealth ballot items. Most people either don't vote on them or vote Yes, if they are poorly informed on the judicial philosophy. Unfortunately most counties send out sample ballots really late, that causes less time to educate on Judges.

(490 posts)Another way to go is to find some far-right wing voter guide websites and just vote opposite of their recommendations. Look for buzz phrases like "activist judge" in the descriptions and you know that person is worth your vote.
