Michigan had straight ticket voting for decades. repubs tried to take it away and we won. Then they appealed it and we lost. This is the first time for Michigan to vote this way. I have never voted this way. Our Proposal 3 will bring it back.

That's fine with me. I like filling in the bubbles for each and every Democrat, for judges who are sane and appointed by a Democrat & for the few good amendments. WE have a very important one, Prop 4, that could change FL's draconian law which disenfranchises forever anyone convicted for a felony charge. If it passes, only people with felonies for murder or sexual assault/rape will be disenfranchised, a huge step forward. I am so praying this passes so my son and millions of others like him convicted for things like not paying fines and fees for parole from driving offenses and those charged with marijuana possession.

We can also vote in any polling place and don’t need to show any ID. We just answer some questions.

In New Mexico in order to get a Driver’s License you have to take your birth certificate, Social Security card, one official government document (like a driver’s license) and a utility bill to prove you live where you say you live. So after all that they know you’re legit. So when they have you on the voters’ list they know you’re good to go. And your Driver’s license is also proof of citizenship.

I'm like you. I don't like the one-punch "D" vote. I vote for each one, individually. I want to see the X mark the spot.

Here in TrumpLand, there are some that don't have Dems on the ticket, anyway, plus state amendments...so I'd have to look at most of them individually, anyway.

I have a lot of people who ask me every election how to vote. Without getting into it too deeply, I assist a lot of people getting jobs, cutting red tape in government, obtaining fuel assistance and getting into housing. All I ask in return is to make sure they're registered and that they vote. Almost all contact me, my wife or others who network into that assistance that they have received, to ask how they should vote. For today's election in Massachusetts it was easy. Vote for every Democrat on the ballot and vote yes on the 3 questions.

Yeah, we used to have straight ticket here in Michigan until the republicans, who control house and senate and governorship ( hopefully not after today) took it away. The democrats have tried repeatedly to bring that back along with early voting and the republicans won’t bring it up. Voter suppression Michigan style.

My town is Republican, but something is different. A husband and wife were standing out front with umbrellas and a big billboard with names and pictures of the Democratic candidates. They were the only people. Of course I knew the people standing there, they are 72 years old and life long Democrats. I shook their hands and told them that I was going inside to Make America America Again. They both cheered.

I am a positive person but I have to admit I had my doubts about electing a Democratic Representative in my district, from the young people I saw I believe it can happen.

People, doesn't it feel so good to be riding the blue tsunami?

I was able to get my 66 year old house mate to vote for the first time in her life. I had her register years ago to encourage her to vote previously but each time when she got to our voting place she was too scared to go into the booth alone. She hadn't had much education and was too worried that she would embarrass herself by not knowing how to work the machines or that she would not know what to do if anything unexpected was on the ballot.

I had tried in the past to have sample ballots etc... but this time I requested absentee ballots, that way she could vote at home, and we had a computer that we used to look up information about candidates so that she didn't have to worry about trying to remember all the names or confusing one for another , and if she had questions like about, ballot initiatives etc...

She called me this morning just after she dropped her ballot off at the Board of elections office to let me know that she had officially voted for the first time in her life and you could hear the pride in her voice. Another woman voter empowered!

Our state rep candidate, Amy Cozze, greeted me at the entrance. When I got out, I told her I voted straight Dem and was headed to her office to check in as an on-call poll driver in case someone needs a lift. I'm home right now ready to make this blue wave a reality!

Researched all the local judges and school board members too. Easy to determine who was a Dem, voted straight party.

Also, here in MI, I voted Yes on all 3 ballot proposals which were all polling to pass easily:
1. Legal recreational weed
2. nonpartisan panel to draw districts and end gerrymandering
3. Voting ease, automatic voter registration, easy voting if you recently moved, absentee ballots given without a reason.

These proposals, if all pass, will be a transformation to this state.

BALLOT PROPOSALS are a key to taking our Democracy back. We need to have something like the Cons ALEC, something that pushes ballot proposals like these in all 50 states.

Not a one Republican campaign sign & NO Republicans handing out sample ballots.
The Dems were there handing out sample ballots in force. It was almost like the Repubs were hiding in shame! This was a very red Republican area for years. Big support for Trump. Seems like that's changing.A gay Black mayor was elected here(that really ruffled feathers). He got threats & council meetings were a three ring circus. This new mayor is doing a great job. He's attracting new business & is really involved.

I actually voted for a Republican for the first time in my life. I have a friend who lost her HUD voucher because she was a whistleblower on the local HUD official. I accompanied her to a county commission hearing where she was trying to address the issue. The hostile looks from both Repubs and Dems was so chilling. But there was one Republican who stood by her. I had to give him my vote. It took me awhile to bubble that vote in, but I had to do it in the end. Integrity is hard to argue with.

Straight "D" on the all the partisan races. (Duh)
Unfortunately there were a number of races where (R's) were running unopposed, so I left them blank.

On the non-partisan races were we didn't know all the candidates, I voted for the ones I knew and then if I hadn't filled in enough blanks, just went for all the ones with female names. Figured that, in the main, the women couldn't possibly do any worse than the men.

When we got there there was only one other person voting, but I asked one of the poll workers about turnout and he replied "really heavy for this precinct". We normally go vote early afternoon, when most folks are working, so its not unusual to have our polling place all to ourselves. Now we just have to hold our breaths.

Tomorrow I'll take down our yard sign for Col Owens, the (D) running for KY State Assembly for our district, hopefully he'll be our new rep as of tomorrow.

The statewide races, straight "D" except one I left blank, where both candidates are corrupt crooks (Dems ran a guy disbarred in 2 states for fraud. To serve on a franchise tax board.)

On local races, a couple had no Democrats running. Thankfully I am familiar with all the candidates so chose some nonpartisan ones or in one case, a moderate Rep running against a right wing bat-shit crazy rep. I left ballot mostly blank for a planning group where I only knew one candidate (a Dem) but not the rest.

Dems in our area need to get their act together and recruit good people for every race.

Good on local issues, forestry management and rural issues, pretty engaged. But he's always been across the aisle voting in the repug block against healthcare and so forth. I always had the feeling that he was an honest guy with his own convictions, which he could explain and justify if we ever had a sit-down. I don't mind disagreeing with people when they have principles and honesty. But his campaign this time around ran all kinds of radio ads about he was some heroic healthcare figure, dedicated to protecting pre-existing conditions and so forth...

Fuck that guy. If you can't stand for your own voting record, if you have to lie your ass off about who you are and pretend it never happened, you're just a piece of shit that wants to get elected hoping that people are idiots with short memories. He'll probably win this re-election campaign, but I'm done with him.
