Big turnout here in NE Ohio

I waited in line about 20 minutes with my husband and son just now at the polls. I've lived here over 30 years, and I have voted in every election, and I've never had more than one or two people ahead of me in line to vote. There were even more people waiting in line when we left. The line was going out the door of the building and about 50 people were standing outside in the parking lot. At least it kept moving. Everyone was genial and patient. We were done in a total of about 40 minutes. Grateful to have a sunny day and not too awfully cold. The majority of people I saw there were seniors, which is about what you'd expect for mid morning.

For some reason, I felt so anxious waiting. I've never felt that way before. Really on pins and needles today!

Just to make myself feel better, I wore an old pair of athletic shoes when I went there today that are dorky looking and bright electric blue!!! Plus my sweatshirt that says NIKE on it.

Pins and needles too...it’s going to be a long day.

I’m praying all Ohioans have come to their senses and vote BLUE.

I cannot stand that little rodent looking evil man and the lies he spews.

He needs to be retired permanently.

And Portman (who looks like he’s been deceased for five years) needs to go as soon as he’s up for re-election. He was first to tell Americans what a great and honorable man Kavanaugh was

Both of them are or would be horrible representatives for our state. Woman hating, gun loving. corporate shills. De Wine makes me cringe. Ugh. Looks like a bewildered old rodent. And Portman has done absolutely nothing for the state, even when he occasionally crawls out from under his rock and utters something stupid. They both need to go away.

The racism and sexism from the GOP are very attractive to people in some parts of Ohio. Their minds are poisoned by nonstop right wing media. In my area the good union jobs left due to Reagan and Bush. This area now relies heavily on tourism to survive economically. These people vote for the GOP which is actively destroying the public lands that attract the tourism dollars.

i am especially anxious about the State of Ohio Auditor and Secretary of State candidates. The GOP has done an incredibly effective job suppressing the vote here in Ohio which is why they keep winning. The state auditor controls the state pension funds. The GOP has raided the Public Employee Pension Funds, stealing the money the taxpayers and state, county and local employees have paid into these funds. Having government employees have secure retirement pensions is a huge employee benefit that attracts professionals who can then afford to work for lower wages and is an important factor in preventing corruption in government. This is one of the largest uninvestigated scandals in the United States. Kasich had a big hand in the pot when he worked for Lehman and got $480,000,000 out of those funds conveniently just as Lehman Brothers was going bankrupt.
