Voted in Johnson County, Kansas, in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City

Not that busy. Maybe 10 total voters. I do have to say the voting machines we have are excellent. Touch screen voting that allows you to review your choices, and then if you want, you can print out your ballot to verify again, and then you re-insert the ballot and click done. Electronic and paper trail. I'm honestly surprised Kobach would allow that as Secretary of State, but then Johnson County is normally pretty republican.

Unfortunately, I had to vote in the palace of my sworn enemies - a Shriners' Temple!

It will be a light to medium blue this year with Dem. Sharice Davids defeating the incumbent Republican congressman by 10+ points if trends hold.

If Kobach loses his bid for governor, it will be due to a heavy Dem turnout in Johnson County and many former and current Repubs voting blue. Johnson County is a very educated county (over 50% of the voting age population has a Bachelor’s degree or higher) so the more people who turn out, the better our chances will be.

But I think even Johnson County is breaking for Sharice Davids the Indian-Lesbian-MMA-Fighter-turned-Lawyer (I know all that shouldn't matter, but it's such a fun combo) against Yoder who's been in the house since 2011.

As a former resident of Leawood for many years, I have seen the enormous difference affluence makes with voting. After this election, Dems need to focus on more uniform and fair voting rules and upgraded voting machines. The richest nation in the world can afford it.

I think that's a bit of an understatement (still have family there)....

Certainly a much higher educated population, so maybe some of those "conservatives" will vote D after all those years of Brownback's mess.
