Taylor Swift says there's 'a lot of underestimation of young voters'

Taylor Swift is making a final-hour push to drive Americans to the polls, saying in an Election Day message that she’s seeing “a lot of underestimation of young voters.”

“What was it that everyone is supposed to do today?” Swift asked playfully in a Tuesday video on Instagram. “Oh yeah, gotta go vote today."

The newly politically outspoken performer — who famously shied away from publicly weighing in on politics until endorsing former Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen (D) against Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R) in the state’s Senate race last month — urged her fan base to head to the ballot box.

“I’m seeing a lot of underestimation of young voters in this new generation who now have the right to vote just in the last couple of years,” said Swift.
