SPANBERGER- you have no idea what this meant

The Virginia 7th has been a Republican dumping ground for decades. Bliley and Cantor and Brat won with at least 60%. Creigh deeds won 40% and that was considered a success. Cantor lost to Brat because it's an open primary and the Dems didn't even have a primary. Why? No need to rent space or get a copier. The 7th has been gerrymandering drastically - from a fan or flashlight beacon of the the west from western Henrico (tobacco) to now running down the west side of I95.

The idea that the 7th is in ANY WAY is absurd. Great candidate. Incredible person. Huge grass roots.

There are a lot of people in bow ties downtown right now who feel the shift. Even the local rightwing oooold Dominion newspaper endorsed Spanberger.

Simply amazing.

crew was all over the place, and wild to win! A couple of women-run orgs also kept the heat on the Pubs and the spotlight on Spanberger.

Spanberger gave out yard signs, sent postcards, and had a fine bunch of canvassers who visited me at least 3 times. She put her name out there and pounded the pavement!

I don't know if there are enough votes for Brat to catch up.

I certainly hope not.

With over 99% of the votes counted.

I’ve lived in this district for 21 years and we have never come close to electing a Democrat before this year.

It looks like we have elected one this year.
