Voters in Idaho, Nebraska and Utah on Tuesday were on track to approve what their Republican-led legislatures repeatedly would not: free or low-cost health coverage for most poor adults through an expansion of their Medicaid programs, the New York Times reports.
The three deep-red states are now poised to join 33 others that have already expanded Medicaid, an option under the Affordable Care Act since 2014.

(86,596 posts)they figured out that the LDS cult can pass more of its welfare cases (they have their own welfare system only for church members) on to the taxpayers and get even richer. The Walmart effect. Meanwhile the small win is that nonmembers can have healthcare now too.

(13,582 posts)when our governor "Butch" Otter jump on the bandwagon a couple days ago. That was just to make it look good. He and all the other white-wing politicians in this state despised that idea. Mostly because it's Obamacare.
I'm not sure if we gained much in the state legislature. I don't know anything about the districts away from my part of the state. In the immediate area, we seemed to break even. We got rid of one little white-wing jackass, Dan Foreman, who was caught on video calling us libtards!
I don't know if you read much into Medicaid expansion passing even with 61%. That's a lot of republicans voting for it. Everyone of which probably thinks that will put money in their pocket. They need it for themselves, work in the medical field, or have a family member that needs it. That makes it okay, even if it is Obamacare.
