We lined the sidewalk of Rose Garden Park. We greeted a bunch of drivers honking their horns in approval of our protest. But we did have one or two malcontents; one of them; some redneck in a pickup; flipped us off and called the #ProtectMueller protests "bullshit", to which I replied, "If you love Trump so much, go live with hi
A photographer of my local newspaper, the Express Times, took a pic of, then interviewed me, asking my opinion as to why I was at the demonstration. I told him, "We're supposed to live in a democracy with the rule of law, not the rule of a tyrant." I could even be in the paper!

(6,251 posts)more than 60 protesters on one of the main streets next to the Cabell County Courthouse. The newspaper and two of the three local television stations covered us.
My totally unscientific survey estimates that there were about ten thumbs-ups and horn-toots-in-unison-with-the-bullhorn-chants for every negative response. The negative responses were generally the ever popular "Get a job!", though one poor soul and his passenger simply shouted "Trump! Trump! Trump!". Bad choice, as a dozen of us echoed with "Sucks! Sucks! Sucks!"

(11,648 posts)At the federal courthouse. Mostly older crowd, I don't know if there was a separate rally on the University of Oregon campus. Surprised that there were no college age people at my rally. An aide to Senator Ron Wyden spoke (he's on the Judiciary Committee) and Wyden says Whittaker has not been approved by the Senate implying a Constitutional crisis is looming. Maybe lame ducks like Flake will find their spine and cross the aisle on this one.

(315 posts)That was my favorite chant.
It was a beautiful, not too chilly night. Nice crowd, lots of thumbs up from tourists and onlookers. Someone brought a baby Trump balloon and there were many hand-made signs.
And at the post-march rally, Representative Carolyn Maloney reminded everyone to call their representatives tomorrow morning to urge them to protect the Mueller investigation tomorrow.

(9,865 posts)Was only at the Union Square part of it and missed these highlights. There were businessmen in the crowd--- talking about how they all knew for years about how corrupt and untrustworthy Trump is. They had real, snickering contempt for him and it pre-dated the '18 election.
Heard Maloney---thanks for the reminder about the phone call.

(51,591 posts)Our reelected congresswoman was there as well as the local congressman's chief of staff. Tons of pedestrians and car traffic was honking with support. On the way back to my car homeless people were applauding my sign and the efforts of protesters. Everyone hates tRump! One of the guest speakers told everyone (those who weren't already aware of it) that the fake prez lied about Jim Acosta and how the freedom of the press and the first amend is becoming like a banana republic. Another person had a moment of silence for more gun victims and another speaker wished RBG rapid recovery for her broken ribs.
