Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane. Half of the articles in Annals of Internal Medicine are pushing for gun control. Most upsetting, however, the medical community seems to have consulted NO ONE but themselves. https://www.nraila.org/articles/20181102/surprise-physician-group-rehashes-same-tired-gun-control-policies

Epic responses from medical professionals, parents, victims. Also:

Maybe if you didn't successfully lobby Washington to prohibit the @CDCgov from receiving funding to investigate the health effects of widespread gun ownership there would be more data on the issue for them to consult?

(3,275 posts)Gun sales go up after after shootings that get a lot of media attention. I was going to say after mass shootings but since that is almost a daily occurrence, not every mass shooting makes headlines.
The NRA is a horrible organization. The Thousand Oaks Bar shooting was the 307th in 2018 and there are still almost two more months to go.

Edit to add: I like the one that says: "What lane are you in, exactly? The killing-as-many-people-as-you-can-in-the-shortest-amount-of-time lane? Or is it the funding-the-kakistocracy-with-Russian-money lane?
Your organization is disgusting."

(88 posts)Isn't the entire study on what doctors see first hand when they treat patients with bullet wounds? Are they suppose to consult gun nuts and ask them why a body ravaged with bullet wounds falls under the second amendment? Their argument makes no sense

When you are lying there, someday, helplessly ill or injured, will you still believe that doctors are Self-important? I think not. We'll see how important these doctors look to you then!

(54,378 posts)NRA doctors have conclusively proved that gun shot wounds are actually beneficial to the health of 90% of the population.
A medical oddity that has shown up in their study--all officials of the NRA and all Republican members of Congress are in the 10% for whom gun shot wounds are detrimental to their health, and the NRA has therefore recommended NOT to shoot at them.
