These 14 Democrats Are at Core of What Bernie Sanders Calls the 'Most Progressive Freshman Class' in Modern US History

From the article:

As conservative pundits and self-interested corporate Democrats predictably attempted to spin this week's midterm election results as a win for so-called moderates and proof that the Democratic Party should tack to the center, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) dismissed this "absurd line" in an interview on Thursday and called the incoming crop of newly elected House members "the most progressive freshman class in the modern history of the United States."

"Many of these folks are not just women, not just people of color, who campaigned on Medicare for All, raising the minimum wage to 15 bucks, campaigned on making public colleges and universities tuition-free, on undoing Trump's tax breaks for billionaires," Sanders told Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi in response to one Washington Post columnist's claim that Sanders-style progressives "scare" voters.

Far from "scaring voters", progressive politics energize voters.

Its a promising future. They're not going to let the cons have their corrupt way with the world. As an older woman, I am hopeful.

would be considered progressive 10-20 years ago. Most Dems who ran in "red" districts ran on environmentalism, LGBTQ rights, choice, protecting the ACA, and common sense gun safety reforms. These are no longer the "losing" issues in those types of districts that they once would've been. Proves the people are on our side and we're winning the message.

then he can express his opinion about the Democratic party, about members of the party and other issues that are important to our party.

Until then, he should shut up. And for members here who think that rejecting him means we do not belong here - they are the ones who do not.

and it includes Andy Kim (NJ-3, where votes are still be counted but he is most likely going to prevail) and it seems odd that he is on this special list given that he worked for (per many on DU over an 8-year period) "TurdWay, Corporate Obama" and apparently was even an aide to (god forbid) David Petraeus.

He was also one of several on that list, who Obama endorsed back in an August 1st via tweet -

Barack Obama

@BarackObama

Today I’m proud to endorse such a wide and impressive array of Democratic candidates – leaders as diverse, patriotic, and big-hearted as the America they’re running to represent:

I think it is silly to suddenly swoop in and attempt to take credit for what has been a huge undertaking carried out by a number of both major and small organizations that helped to bring about Tuesday's outcome. If anything, "Indivisible" was pivotal in not only assisting people nationwide with "grassroots organizing", but actually TEACHING people what that ("grassroots" ) means, and how people can actually run for office.

progressives couldn’t possibly have supported Obama or the Democratic Party? And who is taking credit for anything? It’s just a list of people Sanders likes. Strange you would have such a problem with that.

is that the argument here is attempting to segregate party members via a purity test.

and was surprised to see that Bernie Sanders only endorsed 5 of the 14 people he now praises as being the future of a party of which he isn't a member.
