Supermum Sue Radford is celebrating the birth of her 21st baby

Supermum Sue Radford is celebrating the birth of her 21st baby. Sue, 43, welcomed Bonnie Raye into her king-sized clan after a 12-minute labour. Her other kids were thrilled when she brought 8lb 4oz Bonnie back to the family’s ten-bedroom converted care home in Morecambe, Lancs.

Her baker husband Noel, 47, said: “I don’t think anyone sets out thinking they’ll have 21 children. We thought we’d have three." Supermum Sue, 43, said: “We’ve both decided we don’t want any more. Bonnie has completed our family.” Noel, 47, added: “Some people decide to stop after two or three kids. We’ve made it after 21.”

The couple have said similar things before, including after 14-month-old Archie. And Noel even had a vasectomy, later reversed, after baby number nine. But Sue, who has spent a total of 811 weeks (15½ years) pregnant, insisted: “It has to come to an end at some point.

The couple, who support themselves with their bakery and claim only child benefits, had their first baby when Sue was just 14.

You've never experienced labor and never will, and your male

privilege allows the arrogant assumption that labor of a 'mere'

12 minutes is a breeze, a big nothing, like "popping" gum.

I'd definitely say 12 minutes qualifies as a breeze.

She must be one of those rare women who find pregnancy easy-peasy -- like, no vomiting. Or like my dad's cousin, who believed what the Pope told her and had 11 kids. Or like my mom's cousin's wife, who never felt happy unless she had an infant in her arms (12 kids) and took to drink after her husband had a vasectomy and denied her any more of that.

And really, all those people were born in the 1920's, like almost a century ago now. Even my own grandma, born in the 1880s, knew enough to stop at four when her doc told her to, so numbers 5 and 6 were considerably later.

Definition of 'care home':
“A care home is a large house or institution where people with particular problems or special needs are looked after.”

I guess at least one of those ratifies that decision. Anyone who is voluntarily childless can look to that family as justification for the decision. It's plenty of children being born. Ours were not needed.

back when there was no such thing as reliable birth control. The oldest daughters were likely to remain single. My guess is they'd already had quite enough of mothering, thank you very much, and had no desire to start doing it again.

She was the oldest of my great grandmothers 12 kids 2 died before their 2nd birthday). My grandparents worked the farm along with the older boys. I guess farming is why they aimed for a large family. Aunt Mabel took care of the younger ones and the babies. I’m very grateful she saved my grandmother from drowning in the creek one day. Ran to a bridge and caught hold of my grandmother’s hair bow.

Mabel married her cousin. They were best friends and neither one wanted any kids. They did adopt a niece when her mother died from a botched abortion. The father was only interested in keeping the boy and was going to put the daughter in an orphanage, but signed her over to them instead.

Maybe a couple hundred bucks per child? Times 21? 🤔

My 95-year-old mother is the last of 14 siblings. I myself have popped out a few kids and they've xeroxed themselves and those people have made additional copies. I have made too many people, but I can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.
