My great uncle is buried at the American Cemetery in Normandy.

He survived D-Day, but was KIA less than a month later. To be honest, I am glad Trump is not going to the cemetery for WWI vets. In fact, I hope he stays the hell away from all national cemeteries for our veterans, including the one where my father is buried. His presence does nothing but defile their memories.

I don’t recall a more sobering place I have visited. It was quiet, except for the sound of the wind blowing across the channel. There was a peaceful calmness in the air, a sunny day in May. But to a person, there was a deep sadness and respect for the dead, who gave their lives for their country and the countrymen and women where they fought. It would be a sacrilegious thing for someone of tRump’s ilk to walk upon those hallowed grounds. All I could think would be, “How dare you!?”
