I was trying to think of a more fitting tag than "heartless son-of-a-bitch" but I am fuming so much I can't think straight.

I have family all over Cali. and can't get in touch with any of them since yesterday.

Is it possible to revoke Trump's citizenship while he is in France and not let him back in the country?

Unfortunately, invoking the 25th is up to the VP and a majority of the cabinet... and they almost as unfit for their roles as he is.

I am so sorry you have been unable to reach family. I hope you are able to connect soon and that they are OK.

I have a second-hand (or actually more like fourth-hand) connection to a family in Paradise. They were relatives of close friend of my step-father's. He was a retired engineer who moved to Paradise and became a piano tuner/restorer. My step-father and mom stayed at their house there years ago. As my mom describes it, their home, garden, and properly were lovely -- an idyllic "second chapter." At some point over, the house passed on to the family of one of their kids. Yesterday, my step-father heard from his friend that the house burnt to the ground.

I don't know why -- the connection is so distant -- but thinking about it brings me to tears. It's not just the one lost home that knocks me out. Somehow, knowing the "story" of one couple opens the door of grief for all those other stories I will never hear.
