These are some of the national institutions that make life good. Ive been worried about the stated goals of defunding the small amounts that help PBS and NPR.
USPS doesnt run on tax funding, but is self funded. I know theyve wanted to privatize and make services people rely on more expensive.

(13,920 posts)Amazon and other businesses might have some serious objections to them going at USPS too hard. Although sears might have limped on a bit longer if we'd lost our postal service. But i've noticed most of the cheaper shipping options at most online places use USPS for at least part of the delivery process.

(22,912 posts)There will be hard trade offs made to pass budgets through the Senate that Trump will sign in order to prevent shut downs, not raising the debt ceiling is also a hostage ploy Republicans may try. They may suffer some more cuts, but I think total defunding is now off the table.
