(3,344 posts)I do not want to lose a Senate seat in a state that is so red. He needs to stay there.

(6,137 posts)he is the one trump cant beat because he shares too much of his base; going against brown is going against some of the trumps base. I support his run 100%.

(6,137 posts)including likely gain in Maine to replace deplorable collins. We need Brown to sway the midwest to solid blue.

(3,784 posts)Sherrod Brown is MY Senator, he's from my hometown, and my dad used to work with his mom. He's also hands-down my favorite politician in Washington. He's that rare breed of Democrat who is true to his liberal roots, but is willing to FIGHT as well. He appeals to a wide spectrum of voters and is beloved by the blue collar workers of Ohio. If he runs, there is no doubt in my mind that not only will he win, but he'll win HUGE.
I've been one of the people constantly telling others to forget about Sherrod Brown ever running for President, only because his wife (Connie Shultz) has very vocally said that if he ever ran for President, she'd divorce him. But this article is written BY Connie Schultz, saying that they're looking into it just because SO MANY people have urged them to.
I believe in Sherrod Brown so much, that not only would he rocket up to #1 on my list of Democrats to support in the primaries, but I would even be willing to work on his campaign. Yes, he's a valued member of the Senate, precisely BECAUSE of all the qualities I mentioned above. But I think his value as a Senator PALES in comparison to what he could accomplish as President. Plus, you also have to figure that the difference between a 53-47 Senate and a 54-46 Senate is not that great, especially if you add in a Democratic President.
I say go for it. Run, Sherrod, run!!!
