Wait, WHAT? Both Trump AND Pence Skip The Traditional Arlington Cemetery Visit?

Both Trump AND Pence skipped the Arlington Cemetery visit today? They sent out the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to make the speech instead. What's going on???

The 'press lid' was put on at 10AM. I'm guessing Pence was already out of the country, Trump was slated to give a speech, and just decided to stay in bed and watch Fox all day instead. Probably sulking over the Senate results in Arizona?

The one about "respect for our wonderful, U.S. military" and our "wonderful, yooge veterans."

Can't use those lines to beat anybody over the head anymore, without being answered by "you don't even give enough of a damn about veterans to A) see that they get their checks, or B) drag your lazy ass out of bed to visit Arlington National Cemetery on Veterans Day weekend."

No more bullshit about kneeling football players "disrespecting our veterans" etc.

We know, they know, their followers know it was never about the vets, the flag. It was always about racism.

My parents are both buried there, and maybe they appeared to Trump and Pence in the night, warning Pence of hell fire and eternal damnation, and Trump of an eternity of organic food and Obama speeches, if they showed up at Arlington.

But I was there at Arlington both times, saw them finally together permanently, so obviously the Pentagon was cool with it.

that he'd made other plans, and found out Trump was cancelling his appearance after it was too late.

At this point, I'm just waiting to see what goofy, CRINGE-WORTHY lie Sarah Huckabee comes up with to cover for this. Maybe claim that Jim Acosta 'put his hands on the President, preventing him from leaving the White House.'

Since 1993, either the President or VP has attended Veteran's Day ceremonies at Arlington. But before that, it was unusual for either the President of VP to attend.

...........that they skipped the ceremonies because they were afraid of assassination. RW'ers have been all over Facebook claiming that there have been rampant threats of assassination recently. They are literally the ONLY people reporting this (apparently it's too stupid for even Faux News to report). So my guess is it's just a bunch of cult members throwing out anything they can think of in order to try to provide cover for their mancrush.

If Trump is so afraid of being assassinated that he feels the need to hide, maybe it's time to hang it up.
