They have been brainwashed by right wing propaganda for the past 50 years. This cannot be undone.

Over nearly 40 years, I saw western Pennsylvania go from solidly blue to barely blue in the surrounding Pittsburgh area, and during this time the New Deal Democrats were tossed overboard by the poobahs in the late 1980s to make the party more business-friendly. To be fair and balanced (heh), though, a lot of the blue collar MAGAbillies of today were Reagan Democrat cocksuckers before the mills all closed.

Without a good solid job from a large employer, they have been resorting to expand their profit margins in the small business sector. Sounds all good until you look closely to see what they're doing in order to ensure clients, customers and work. The result is a cannibalizing of our communities because the power in our small towns in Florida is pooled in the business organizations, like the Chamber of Commerce and/or in the Rotary Club. And breaches of fiduciary responsibility is aided and abetted by our community leaders. It's like small business owners have learned how to help themselves, social networking through these organizations, learning how to quid pro quo to ensure clients and customers. They look the other way as "the right" people are allowed to steal a community's resources, taking over common ground or diverting funds to maintain private property. Somewhere down the line there will be rewards for them in the way of business coming their way.

Not much anyone can do about it, given the present political climate.
