What is your read on Matt Whitaker?

Is he a snitch that is passing information to Trump from the Mueller investigation? Is that where Trump is getting his information?

Has he already made a deal with Trump to stop the investigation one way or another? Has he promised to keep it from going to Congress or being made public?

Will he ever recuse himself?

Is he totally loyal to his "boss"?

Is he obstructing justice?

Will he resign in a few weeks and let another Trump flunky, Guiliani or Christie, take over as AG?

With no data, I suspect that Trump's rage this morning at the Mueller probe is because he just got his first "friendly" briefing of the full scope from Devin Witaker. Not sure if this happened last week before Paris and the bubble finally popped or it's a reaction to something more recent but, IMHO, they're linked.

Probably just got it yesterday after the DOJ memo pronouncing legality of the appointment was issued. At that point, he got his information from Rod and he picked up the phone.

I believe this appointment was compulsory and wreckless, with the intention of being tactical in nature.

Trump and whoever he huddled with to determine his appointment had to know for certain that the appointment of such an open-faced, corrupt, pandering, partisan operative would be temporary at best, which may not have exceeded what was required by Trump, particularly if he did not appoint him to obstruct as assumed, but rather to data mine the Mueller investigation and provide key information to facilitate Trump's defense and/or obstruction efforts.

We've seen such a mission in practical deployment by human cockroach Devin Nunes and his pathetic attempt at clandestine frog hopping to hand delivering classified information directly to Trump himself.

Of course he is there to undermine the investigation. There is no other explanation.
